Being held over the March student holidays, Master Bao will be conducting TWO separate Kung Fu Camps for new students; children aged 5-7/8, and children aged 8/9-12.

Not only will these Camps be an excellent introduction for your children to the ancient Chinese martial art of Shaolin Kung Fu, they are going to be some great FUN.

What Will We Do?

Children can expect an active  week of stretching, jumping, rolling, running, punching, chopping, kicking, and sword play, mixed with Master Bao’s soft but serious approach to discipline and concentration.

Children will also be taught how to respect their sword and learn how to use it properly.

Throughout the week, students will be learning a specific Shaolin Kung Fu Sword form; ‘Xiao Long Jian’ for the 5-7/8 year olds, and ‘Long Xing Jian’ for the 8-12 year olds.

(**Never will students engage in any type of physical contact with another student.  In no way, shape or form will physical contact be allowed**)

What Will We Get?

Kung Fu Clothes & Swords

When students enroll, they will receive a traditional kung fu suit embroidered with a Chinese dragon, as well as a high quality metal sword (not sharp) with a wooden handle.

Performance & Pizza Party!

One the last day of the Camp, there will be a ‘Final Day Performance’ where students will display what they have learned for their parents.

A pizza party will follow the ‘Final Day Performance’.  (The performance will be videoed and sent out to all families)

When & Where Are The Camps?



The ‘Children Kung Fu Camp’ ages 5-7/8 will be five days in length, starting Monday, March 14th and ending on Friday, March 18th.  Classes will be held from 10:30am – 12:00pm (1.5 hours), with a 15-minute ‘snack and drink’ break each day.

The ‘Children Kung Fu Camp’ ages 8/9-12 will be five days in length, starting Monday, March 21st and ending on Friday, March 25th.  Classes will be held from 10:30am – 12:00pm (1.5 hours), with a 15-minute ‘snack and drink’ break each day.

The Camps will be held in Central School gymnasium, located on Stanley Street.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:



1 – These ‘Children Kung Fu Camps’ are the only time in 2011 that the Bao ACADEMY will be taking-in new children students.
(If you are interested in introducing your child to kung fu and miss this opportunity, your next opportunity will not come until 2012!)

2 – There is a limit to the number students we will accept in these Camps.
(FYI, we have already begun enrolling students)

3 – These ‘Children Kung Fu Camps’ will fill up!

(As with Master Bao’s NDCC tai chi classes and the ‘Bao ACADEMY Chinese New Year Celebration’ – we highly suggest you enroll for the Camp as soon as you know you are interested.  These Camps are certain to reach capacity BEFORE the actual start dates, and it would be a shame if you missed yours because you waited to long)

When you enroll in the Bao ACADEMY ‘Children Kung Fu Camp’, your child will receive:

1 – 7.5 hours of kung fu training with 7th generation Shaolin Kung Fu master, Master Pauline Bao.
2 – A traditional kung fu suit embroidered with a Chinese dragon. (Your choice of four different colors…on a first come basis)
3 – A high-quality metal sword with a wooden handle.
4 – A ‘Final Day Performance’ for parents and friends.
5 – A digital copy of the ‘Final Day Performance’ video.

7 – The opportunity continue learning kung fu in Master Bao’s weekly classes that begin in July. (**Only students who have attended the Camp will be eligible to enroll in these weekly kung fu classes starting in July**)

Master Bao’s six-year old son George also had a few words to share during the interview, letting listeners know to expect a Kung Fu battle between him and his mom sometime during the evening.

To round out the interview, Master Bao’s husband Daniel informed listeners that donations for the Kerr Building relief efforts will be collected during the evening festivities.
